We have been informed by Audley End Station that trains may not be running Saturday and Sunday due to disruption and rail works going on. Therefore we would have to use replacement busses which would be really inconvenient. We are looking in to perhaps driving there however this is also another issue as we would have to take two cars as there would be 3 actors then me and molly and my dad as the driver. So we need to ring up national express and see if this is defiantly the case.

Booking Our Train Tickets.
Today we booked our train tickets which will allow us to get the train to Tottenham Hale and use the underground from there and as they is going to be 6 of us we managed to book it under a group ticket which meant it worked out to be only £12.50 each which is considerably cheaper compared to if we booked them separately.

Audience Research
Here are some screen shots from various fan sites on social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter as well as fan clubs on Chase And Status personal 'Members Area' page and youtube.
This has shown me that they have a very wide fan base and could be said they are very mainstream (within the ages of older teenager / young adult) people as they seem to be up to date with the new technology and advertising on social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter which are famously known for being very popular within the younger generation.
Weather Forecast For London Shooting On Sunday
The weather tells us that although it will be cold and cloudy with spots of showers this helps bring an atmosphere to our storyline as it reflects the mood between our main woman and male after the argument (which will be the only scene we are filming outside).
Change Of Date Of Shooting In London
We had to change the date of shooting to Sunday as the owner of the apartment said it would be easier for him and as well many of our actors have work on the Saturday and said they would prefer sunday as well therefore we have changed the date. Fortunately enough this hasn't severally effected me and molly as we have hired out all the equipment for the weekend.

Harry will be used as our cheater within the first couple of scenes in which Chloe is seen to be on a date with.

| Harry Frostick |
I asked Harry Frostick to be one of our main males because he fits the criteria and looks the part which is what me and molly feel is quite important due to the fact that by not looking the part they would therefore not fit in to the 'drum and bass' look and could ruin the whole image we were trying to achieve.

I have asked him to wear a simple polo shirt with jeans and some plimsoles as this would fit nicely with looking neat and casual without looking disgusting or like a druggy.
Sound And Lighting Fixtures.
I asked Harry Stocking and Ed Monk ( students at the school which set up sound and lighting for bands and gigs in the Pit ) if they were able to set up the sound and lighting fixtures for me and molly to be able to film the performance part to our music video. Harry said it should be fine we just need to find out when the Pit is available however it is a bit unfortunate as our school holds gigs throughout the last week of term leading up to christmas however our deadline for all filming to be done is the week before. However we are not asking them to set up all the lighting and only one microphone so hopefully we can get the time and help from people for it to work.

Location Pictures For Performance And Gig Scene's.
This is the Pit in my school, me and my partner believed it would be a ideal place to film our performance part as when all the main lights are off and the stage is light and we set up the stage it would look really good (just like how the stage looked when filming the strangers). We also thought it'd good good as their is two levels therefore we include a variety of shots and it is also easily accessible.

Location Pictures For Running Scene.
I chose Embankment Skatepark in London as a possibility for a location to shoot the Male protagonist (boyfriend) to be running past when he's traveling to the rave as the graffiti connotes a rough street or alley way which contrasts compared to the posh London House he's just travelled from which could connote the reason why he is well dressed and he has a girlfriend which is quite well off is because he gets his money off drugs at illegal raves. However I appreciate that it might be quite hard to film with no one being there as it is London and could be quite hard therefore need to think of other possibility's. Although we would be already filming in London for the fight and argument scene in the apartment seen in earlier posts so therefore would not be hard to travel there it is just the thought of weather people would get in the way. It would also work nicely if we did chose to shoot here to just film after spending the day at the apartment as it will be dark which is what we want.

How Gender Is Represented In Chase And Status' Music Video
Within End Credits we see Plan B speaking down to the female police officer 'Fuck You' with a smirk on his face pronouncing his complete disrespect for the opposite sex and further in force's this ideology by going on to violently attack a woman in a alley way forcing her to kiss him reflecting his though process of women been seen as a object.
This video again reinforces the ideology that women are objects whilst they are laughing at the police whilst they drink, take drugs and attend illegal raves exclaiming their total utter disrespect for the law.
This video Let You Go see's women in a lower class role reflecting the status of those women who appear on Jeremy Kyle as well as being seen as a object. As a parody of the british tv drama Jeremy Kyle giving a vertical intertextuality link the music video pronounces the idea that use of drugs sex and drink is good for you.
Within my chosen music video the women are seen as the antagonist and again playing a lower class role with drink sex and violence involved the woman are constantly pronounce as the main problem. This has shown me a good representation of how i should play out the roles of men and women within my narrative. Due to the fact these videos have represented women in a lower class role, involving sex, drugs and violence with the women seen as the antagonist and the problem to most men, as our target audience is mainly male I feel we should include these stereotypes within our music video to satisfy our target audiences wants and needs.

Possible Costumes.

These are some possible costumes in which our actors could use and which i thought would work well.
< The first one in our female antagonist (chloe) outfit. I believe by using this smart/casual look she will see sophisticated enough to have two boys on the go at the same time and dressy enough for a date but not clever enough to be able to keep her secret from her partner and also allows her to be an emotional wreck once the fight is over as there are scenes of her wrapped up in a ball crying on the floor. By using dark colours it also reflects her characteristics of owning a harsh, manipulative and evil personality whilst still allowing her to be emotional once the fight is over as although she is crying she is still seen as the reason behind her own emotion.
< Pictured here is the outfit i see our singer/rapper Harrison wearing as it is one of his own outfits which he has worn whilst performing in before and i believe suits him and the narrative. As he is performing on stage i would like him to be in something he feels confident and happy in which is why i've chosen a outfit he has worn before so therefore i know he will be confident in wearing it. I also chose it as it suits his rapper image giving him the stereotypical look of a professional.
< Male protagonist, I chose this outfit because its smart/casual something youd wear on a date yet not to fancy, as well it is quite plain which reflects his personality as he is unaware this girl has already got a boyfriend making him a respectful man and is confused when the boyfriend enters.
< Male Protagonist 2, I placed him in a hoodie because of his image of although being the innocent one of the situation he is seen as a bit of a bad man. The hoodie can also be used as a prop to hide his face when it comes to certain parts of the video for example when running past embankment with all the graffiti he can be portrayed as a trouble maker especially when he goes to the rave/gig the stereotypical place to perhaps take drugs, therefore reflecting his image as being a troublemaker and a druggy. Perhaps putting his girlfriend in that situation him self because of how he treats her she went for someone else.
Target Audience
Here is a questionnaire I found on the internet in which she asked people what genre of music they liked and if thy liked drum and bass what they did on their Saturday night and what was their personal view on drugs, the results told me the majority of people who liked drum and bass would spend their Saturday night partying and thought it was cool to do drugs and would advise other people to do it. Therefore this has given me a insight as to what to include within my music video, which is why we are probably going to have a a gig scene where the main male in seen partying and is seen selling drugs to abide by our target audiences wants and needs.
After watching a few of Chase And Status' music videos (for example their song Pieces) it became apparent that the female is usually seen as the antagonist within many situations which occur within their videos, therefore me and Molly have given the role of the antagonist to our leading female as we believe it will work within our narrative and appeal to our target audience.

Characters - Male Singer
We have found someone willing to be the singer in our video, Harrison Cantel who is a good singer and performer.
We asked him to be our singer / performer as he has performed to the school in the past and considering we are part of a big school it takes a lot of confidence which we believe he has to be our performer, he is also a media student therefore can take it seriously and be more understanding about when and where we need him and why. We also believe he looked the part , he has also rapped on stage therefore the rap in the song will be easy for him.

Characters - Main Female.
We have found our main female actor within our music video. Her name is Chloe Cremins and I thought she would be a good actor as she is currently studying Drama at A level therefore I know she will take everything seriously. She also fits the profile appearance and acting wise we were looking for.
Chloe meets our wants and needs for our main female actor and antagonist by being good looking, a good actor with a innocent look about her which in turn work out as we see her not so innocent side when she proceeds to cheat on her boyfriend within the music video.
Lyrics to our song.
These are the lyrics to our song Chase and Status ft Plan B - Pieces. There is a lot of music involved taking over a huge chunk of the song which we will probably have to cut out or shorten the song in some from as its around 5 minuets long and would take too long to film, as well if the song was shorter it would allow us to make what footage we have better instead of rushing.

The Strangers - Live performance
Today we filmed a band called the Strangers In the pit, we used the pit as it has two levels allowing us to do birds eye view shots. Within my group there was four of us with a camera each which allowed us to get movement and angles from all different directions. We asked them to play this (Strangers - In Chaos) song as we felt the drum, vocals and piano were all very pronounced and each played their own part allowing us to focus on all of them at different times within the song giving us a variation.
At lunch we held a gig in the pit in which the Strangers performed to the rest of the school, It would of been nice to shoot with an audience there to get a real atmosphere going however unfortunately it wasn't possible.
By only having one chance to shoot everything live and getting everything exact was hard, as you had to be constantly moving to allow the video to flow with different shots and movement.
This is our final edit of the live music performance.
We worked as a team using simple editing techniques such as cutting and dragging. We used markers to match up the lip singing to the song and to get everything in sync with the music. Most of the time we searched through each 4 of the cameras movements to see which one looked best to add in then, however sometimes when we felt none of the footage particularly worked well and therefore used another point in the song which we felt still worked and therefore used that, The original plan was to edit 30 seconds of the video over 3 hours, however we felt we finished fairly quickly and carried on editing the song until we had ran out of time. We managed to get most of the song finished however near the ending of the song we used one shot to finish off the last couple of seconds (the camera at the bottom left of the diagram facing the band) as it zooms out at the song fades which we felt worked particularly well and fitted with the songs movements. I am very happy with how the video has turned out as at first i was unsure as it was live and we were unsure as to the movements the band would make and how you have to be constantly thinking of different shots and timing however i believe it worked out really well and am pleased with the outcome. It has taught we how much i need to plan ahead down to the last detail within my music video (e.g. the lighting and the movement of the actors as if one of the actors move past the lighting the whole shot will the ruined) and how important it is to get the lip syncing exact otherwise it wont look good.
This is the formation of how we set up the cameras. red - the cameras. the arrows representing movement, one camera as a dolly and the other as a steady cam. The outer square is the balcony (upper floor) and the inner square is the ground floor.
