Still Having To Film The Last Part.

Unfortunately over the christmas holidays we were meant to of been given a camera to take out but the diary's got mixed up and we ended up not having a camera or anything to film with therefore we were left with still no footage of Harry (boyfriend) entering the gig and will have to film as soon as get back to get our rough cut complete as soon as possible.

Here you can see they use bright bold colours again to make their name stand out on a edited image even if its simply been turned to black and white or extremely distorted it has been edited in some shape or form. I believe me and molly should take the ideas from their originals and other drum and bass artists as i believe it would suit the target audience's wants and needs.

All these posters are of the genre drum and bass and have clearly used bright and bold colours with a lot of animation going on and if a image is used it has usually been edited is some way or form to be distorted, which makes me believe we would have to do the same sort of thing for our digipack, Including vibrant colours and distorted images.

Filming Of Pit Gig.

Today i filmed in the pit and it worked out really well as everyone has a non school uniform day therefore it looked really good, although when the strobe was on at points the camera couldn't handle the speed and went quite blurry, however i tried to get a verity of shots despite the darkness and the camera not being able to handle the speed of the light, although i did film for about an hour therefore i feel i will have enough footage to work with within the editing suite. I am really glad this opportunity came up as it was what we were planning to do before harry unfortunately bailed on us and i feel this accompanies our target audiences wants and needs more. I hope i will have some good footage to work with and we can carry on with editing our film.

Pit Gig.

Today Harry Stocking (The male who was going to help us with light and sound before our main character Harry L wasn't able to film) told me about a pit gig going on at school on Thursday the 15th of December (tomorrow) and if i was interested in filming for my music video as he knew about it. I am really glad he asked me because now i will be able to include shots which we originally planned with all the sound and lighting set plus everyone enjoying themselves.

Today we started editing our footage by simply making a quick rough cut, we have not finished yet so have not added any quick cuts or special effects which we plan to do however i believe it will be easier to work with a basic outline of things instead of doing all of it at once as we go.

Today we finished filming of the performance part within the pit and everything seemed to run fairly smoothy apart from the fact that one of our SD cards run out of battery half way through a performance however everything else seemed to work and harrison knew what he was doing and played to the camera well making sure we got lots of good shots.

Problem Of Main Male (Boyfriend) And Narrative.

Our main male harry unfortunately informed us that he would be unable to be in the performance shoot the day before filming therefore we have to change our story board and have just Harrison performing on his own within the pit focusing on his singing and his movements. We will then have to film again showing Harry entering into a gig in which we believe we could possibly shoot within charities week and the pit gigs they hold so we can therefore use the connotations in what come with a pit gig being drugs and harry letting off some steam within the gig.

To try and get a audience we sent a email around and to the student bulletin to ask people to meet in the pit after school thursday ready to film!

Booking The Pit - 8th Of December

Today we asked Drama apartment if it was okay if we could shoot in the pit and if we could book it out, they said thursday would be fine to shoot. Therefore we need to start planning how we want harrison to move on stage and how we are going to use the lighting and booking out cameras etc.

Finished Filming Of Narrative.

 Today we finished all of our filming for the narrative part of our music video taking in to consideration the shots all need to be appropriate and appeal to our target audience which is why we have the female as the antagonist as this is how females are portrayed within the majority of chase and status films which I found out within my research. We also had some unfortunate news when we arrived in London that only certain tube lines were running therefore we would not be able to film scenes along embankment as we were unable to get there which we could of worked out by travelling up the next weekend however we were then informed that trains were not running at all next weekend making it impossible, therefore we changed the location of our running scene to knightsbridge and the tube using a tripod, camera and dolly we managed to film Harry walking along a dark row of houses (due to the dim light creating a dark atmosphere reflecting his characters mood, due to the fact he had just had just caught his girlfriend with another man) and in the underground which we will then cut to him being in the pit on Final Cut Express once we have filmed the Pit performance part on thursday. We were also informed by the owner of the house he was not happy with us smashing plates or glasses within the house as he did not want to dent his flooring which was totally understandable but it did mean we had to change our plans although we replaced these shots with chloe crying and drinking whilst tidying away the date she had just been on.

Problem Solved.

After looking it up online we found out that all the rail works should be done by friday night therefore making the trains available for us to use throughout sunday and hopefully there will be no delays.

Horizontal And Vertical.

Within our music video we have made two intertextual links to other music videos and films through horizontal and vertical intertextuality. We feel this allows us to connect to our target audience more as we share the same target audience within both of these examples.

Chase And Status Pieces.

Within our music video we plan to create a scene in which the girlfriend and boyfriend are messing around together having fun and reflecting on how happy they used to be as he kisses her on the cheek using a steady cam, which is similar as to what happens in the music video we are using (Chase And Status Pieces) where he is looking back on the time him and his girlfriend enjoyed together and how happy they were having fun whilst he kisses her on the cheek during his birthday party.

Date Night (film)

We also plan to use vertical references to the film 'Date Night' in which there is a couple seen on a date enjoying themselves, looking loved up and happily chatting away over a candle with dimmed lighting, we plan to use this shot as the girlfriend is seen cheating on her boyfriend with another male having a candle lit dinner in her house. 

Trains Problem.

We have been informed by Audley End Station that trains may not be running Saturday and Sunday due to disruption and rail works going on. Therefore we would have to use replacement busses which would be really inconvenient. We are looking in to perhaps driving there however this is also another issue as we would have to take two cars as there would be 3 actors then me and molly and my dad as the driver. So we need to ring up national express and see if this is defiantly the case.

Today me and my partner went to look up the times in which the pit is free and when it isn't for shooting, we were hoping there was a free period 5 so we could set everything up and then shoot after school however this doesn't seem possible! We therefore feel like we should find the date we plan to shoot and ask the teacher which is teaching period 5 if we could set up lunch and they wouldn't mind teaching their lesson with all lighting and sound equipment there. However we still need to find people to be the audience and plan to put a notice in the school bulletin or perhaps send a email round asking who would like to be involved.

Booking Our Train Tickets.

Today we booked our train tickets which will allow us to get the train to Tottenham Hale and use the underground from there and as they is going to be 6 of us we managed to book it under a group ticket which meant it worked out to be only £12.50 each which is considerably cheaper compared to if we booked them separately.

This Research has shown me the main target audience and fan base is within Males of a age group of 18 - 24 and a small majority of Females aged 13 - 17 and with most of the videos getting quite high views and little dislikes it connotes the popularity of the 'Drum and Bass' industry and a wide fan base. With this research it is easy to know who our target audience is and how to accompany to their wants and needs.

 This has shown me that they have a very wide fan base and could be said they are very mainstream (within the ages of older teenager / young adult) people as they seem to be up to date with the new technology and advertising on social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter which are famously known for being very popular within the younger generation.  

Weather Forecast For London Shooting On Sunday

The weather tells us that although it will be cold and cloudy with spots of showers this helps bring an atmosphere to our storyline as it reflects the mood between our main woman and male after the argument (which will be the only scene we are filming outside).
